Web Hosting

Once a web site is designed, it has to be hosted on a network server.  When a customer types in your web address, the server serves the web pages to the customer, allowing them to view your website.   Servers are sometimes located in the office of the web design firm, and is in constant connection with the internet.  Alternatively, a web design firm may lease servers which may be located in another state within the U.S.  In most cases, this situation is ideal because the hosting company/venue is adequately prepared to deal with any situations regarding power outages and security risks, as well as having superior speeds and redundant connections to the internet backbone.

For our hosting partners, we also offer e-mail services, including up to 5 free e-mail accounts.  Click here for more info.

Network / Data Center

Ray Of Light Media utilizes SSD hosting (solid-state drives) to provide its customers with superior network connectivity with minimal required downtime.  Compared with standard hard-disk drives (the kind you get with super-cheap web hosting companies), SSDs are faster, more resistant to physical shock (ie; earthquake), run silently, faster, have lower access time, and less latency.

Did we mention they're faster? Page-load speeds can be up to 300% faster than standard HDD web hosting, which in turn adds to our SEO efforts. Located in Dallas & Houston, TX, the data center we use boasts more than 48,000 servers housed in 155,000 sq. ft. of raised floor space, featuring state-of-the-art security, safety, and cooling systems and is second-to-none in the industry.
